VOLUMA® Treatments Orange County

Used to treat the midface region of Dr Furze’s patients, VOLUMA provides supple restoration of volume to the cheeks. Unlike other practices, Dr. Furze, who is a double board-certified plastic surgeon, performs all VOLUMA Injections himself.

Aging is often accompanied by volume loss in the mid-face, cheeks and chin. By visiting a board-certified plastic surgeon you can regain your youth in under an hour. We offer VOLUMA®, a volumizing dermal filler designed to create a plump and natural look without the downsides associated with surgery. Our minimally invasive procedure is comfortable, low-risk and effective. VOLUMA® injectable gel is for deep injection in the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss in adults over the age of 21. It is just one of the many innovative and effective dermal fillers that Dr. Furze provides to his Orange County, CA patients.

What is VOLUMA®?

Voluma is a hyaluronic based gel that provides supple restoration of volume to the cheeks area. The treatment addresses volume loss in the mid-face, boosts collagen and improves the elasticity of your skin. All natural hyaluronic acid creates a glowing and smooth facial complexion and a beautifully contoured appearance. Individuals will experience fuller, rounder and lifted features for up to 2 years following treatment. For optimal results, we recommend patients continue their treatment plan every 2 years.

What can I expect from my VOLUMA® treatment?

Prior to treatment, our team will administer an anesthetic to promote your comfort throughout the procedure. Next, Dr. Furze begins to administer precise doses of VOLUMA® via a sterile needle. During treatment, your professional replaces lost fat and adds volume to your face in 15-40 minutes. This gives you an instant lift with natural looking results that can last up to two years with optimal treatment.

Following the session, you may notice redness, swelling or irritation which can be helped with an ice pack. Results are noticeable as swelling subsides and collagen begins its growth process, normally within 2 weeks.

Facelift FAQ’s

Q Is Voluma safe for all skin types?

Yes. Voluma is also safe to use on all skin tones. Because its active ingredient (hyaluronic acid) is biocompatible, the dermal filler is highly tolerated and does not require an allergy test.

Q What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a sugar that the body naturally produces. Found in the skin and connective tissues, hyaluronic acid has a hydrating property, which helps keep the skin supple and joints lubricated. The sugar binds to water, greatly increasing the skin’s ability to retain moisture. As we age, our bodies begin to produce less hyaluronic acid and our skin loses its structure. When HA is re-introduced into the skin, it gives an instant lift. Over time, the body will safely absorb the hyaluronic acid filler.

Q What gives Voluma its lifting power?

Voluma is composed of linked chains of hyaluronic acid. The high concentration of crosslinked hyaluronic acid gives this injectable two distinct advantages: it increases the formula’s boosting power and extends the longevity of the treatment. Its unique contouring ability makes it highly effective on sunken cheeks.

Q Will Voluma make me look puffy or unnaturally full?

The smooth consistency of the HA-based gel helps minimize the chance of overcorrection. However, the injection technique is key to achieving uniform results. As a board certified facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Furze understands the skin and facial anatomy. His eye for balance give him the ability to produce a natural-looking enhancement.

Q What is the difference between Voluma and Botox?

Voluma and Botox are both injectable treatments that can reduce the signs of aging. However, they work differently and address different concerns. Voluma plumps up depleted areas of the skin and restores lost definition in the cheek areas, while Botox inhibits facial movement. Botox contains a substance that temporarily blocks the release of a neurotransmitter, a chemical that signals the muscles to move. When injected it helps reduce dynamic wrinkles. Both treatments can be used together to restore a more youthful appearance.

Q Can Voluma replace plastic surgery?

While Voluma can increase facial volume and revitalize the face, it has its limitations. It cannot address severely lax skin or reverse advanced signs of aging. The best candidates for Voluma are individuals whose skin still has some elasticity. For those with sagging skin, a facelift may be the best option. During your consultation, Dr. Furze will determine if Voluma is an appropriate treatment for you.
